Tanuki by Standing Sushi Bar @ Orchard Central

It was the day where 3 couples meet up cause Jazzy & Riza was in Singapore. I had to planned what to have for dinner since the rest had no idea what to eat. I search for Orchard Central directory and found this restaurant. And also, according to blog's review this wasn't that bad. Worth to try it BUT..... it wasn't according to me.


Yes. Oysters was tempting but must order at least a glass of martinis but since non of us want to drink, we decided not to order. 

Trio of Fries  $8
you can never go wrong with spam fries, lotus root, and truffle fries

According to Jazzy, she said that the fries isn't that nice cause they fried it the second time. But according to me, fried wasn't that good as well. 

Angry Birds

We were all wondering what this name means since we are all very curious with it. It came with a fried chicken wings & chili sauce. And the thing is if you ate it with the sauce, its spicy and thus, called it Angry Birds. Lolol

American Roll Sushi
Placing beef, cheese and pickles on the sushi rice and deep fried

One of the recommended dish I read on the reviews and truly, it taste good! 

Salmon & Tuna Sashimi  $12 per Sashimi

Salmon was good! But the tuna is disappointing.

California Don  $15
a super-sized version of the california roll including avocado, tobiko, cucumber, crab stick,and mayo

Shuyi ordered this and said it isn't that bad.

Trickster Cheesesteak  $12
yakiniku beef, onion, and mushroom with melted cheddar cheese in a kong bak pau

Ok ok only. Won't order if I'm back there.

Chicken Katsu with Rice in a Curry Sauce

I thinkk the dish is quite weird. Firstly. the curry doesn't taste like normal curry. And secondly, the miso soup is VERY salty. I think the rice is good with the chicken only.

Taco Fish  $15
beer-battered fish tacos with radish, spicy sauce, yuzu, mozzarella cheese, and avocado

When the dish came, I was pretty full since I am already eating the rice. It wasn't that bad but I was extremely disappointed with the avocado since it wasn't ripped! It's pretty hard when I ate eat.

Rating: 2.5 / 5

I probably wouldn't go eat at this restaurant again since it was REALLY disappointing when they served me the avocado which is not fully ripped. And the service was pretty bad. So I would say No No to this restaurant.
